Smith & Associates serves as a single source for Photogrammetric
engineering, enabling the accurate and timely delivery of
today’s technology. L.I. Smith has successfully completed
projects involving development of topographic / planimetric
maps for GIS. L.I. Smith provides the highest degree of accuracy
for digital orthophotography, vectorized layer development
and engineering mapping.
Our
team provides base mapping and digitizing using aerial photography,
digital orthophotos and digital planimetric mapping. Our aerial
team oversees all phases of production requiring aerial photography,
ground control, aerial triangulation and stereo compilation.

St.
Louis County Parks Aerial Photography
St. Louis, Missouri
Client: St. Louis County
St. Louis County, Missouri requested to have seven of its
parks flown for aerial photography with 2-foot contours. L.
I. Smith & Associates set photo panel points using GPS.
The control was set to the Missouri State Plane Coordinate system.
The
project was coordinated with the Parks commission personnel,
since some of the locations had controlled access. Aerial photographs
were then converted to digital orthographic images and DTM created
to show the contour lines.
Aerial Photography of Strip Mines
Macon and Overton County, Tennessee
Client: Tennessee Department of Mining
The project was for 6 strip mine sites in Macon and Overton
County, Tennessee. L. I. Smith & Associates set the photo
panel points using GPS equipment. The Points were converted
to Tennessee Site Plane Coordinate System. The owner was provided
with digital orthos with 2-foot contours. |
